We chose Whitmire Homes to build our custom home not just once, but twice. We were very pleased with our home built in 1998 that we chose Whitmire Homes without hesitation again in 2004. Building a new home can be stressful and the choices overwhelming, so choosing the right builder really makes a difference.
The process went so smoothly starting with our meeting with Todd Reed (Whitmire’s in-house designer). He was able to work in all the details that we wanted (moving closets, changing room sizes, etc.). After we got our plan just as we wanted (he was so patient with all our changes), we began the selection process. They make it really easy – almost everything could be selected in their showroom with samples to look at. We were given a list of vendors with several choices for the other items we needed to pick out.
Ron Reed, the project manager, was very helpful during the selection process and when meeting with us on site for walk throughs during the construction. Designing and selecting the right house is definitely important, but finding the perfect “site” is something you also have to consider. Tim Whitmire meets you on site and definitely has an eye for this. He took everything into account from curb appeal to where I wanted the sun to come in my windows.
Whitmire Homes' staff was always accessible if we had a question during construction, which definitely gave us peace of mind. Our home was finished well ahead of schedule, and even the closing process was impressive. At closing, we met with Keith Brown, who gave us a notebook with all the information we needed about our new home and explained the warranty process. Whitmire Homes has a full service warranty team – they really take care of any issues you may have after your purchase. We’ve only had a few things come up during this time, but they were prompt and thorough to take care of any warranty issues.
We love our new home. We appreciate Tim and everyone at Whitmire Homes that made sure our home was quality built and that the process was so smooth from start to finish.

Our Experience with the Whitmire team was outstanding to say the least. Building a custom home is a huge undertaking. Before choosing Whitmire, we met with several builders who would promise anything to get our business. Whitmire was the only builder willing to spend time with us to get the details they needed to give us an accurate estimate. Their estimation process before construction was very thorough and detailed, which minimized the risk of unforseen surprises throughout the building process. Todd Reed did an outstanding job customizing our plans to meet our needs and designed a beautiful home for us. Ron Reed was instrumental in helping us through the construction process. His knowledge and attention to detail helped us feel comfortable making the tough decisions as well as kept us from making bad decisions we would regret later. Tim Whitmire always made himself available anytime without hesitation as well. The entire staff was extremely knowledgeable and always willing to take the time we needed throughout construction. The responsiveness, quality of workmanship by the Whitmire team as well as their contractors, and most importantly, their integrity made this experience one we will always remember as an enjoyable one. By the time our home was built, we felt like part of the Whitmire family. If the opportunity arsises, we will most definitely use Whitmire Homes again.
